Our Deribit public test environment operates primarily as a place to test new features. While trading is possible, and it's a great place to test out how things work (including the api), it’s important to note that the test environment does not represent an accurate mirror of the Deribit website in both liquidity and market activity/volume.
In this sense, our clients should caution against using testnet as a realistic simulation of a market while testing bots with our interface. Clients can credit themselves synthetic Dericoins, which have zero value and can be generated freely leading to very unrealistic market conditions.
Testnet may also have instruments not available on https://www.deribit.com and vice-versa.
Note
While some new features may be tested on https://test.deribit.com which are not yet available on https://www.deribit.com, the bulk of components and API endpoints should function very similarly, if not identically.
