To log in to your Deribit account, visit the appropriate environment:
-
www.deribit.com for the production environment.
-
test.deribit.com for the test environment.
Click “Log In” in the top right corner of the homepage.
Deribit offers three secure ways to log in:
-
Using email and password
-
Using a third-party account (Google/Apple)
-
Using API credentials
-
Enter your registered email address and password.
Notice
Email login is only possible using your registered email address. It is not possible to login using your username or nickname.
-
If Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled on your account, select it. You’ll be prompted to complete the 2FA step (see below).
Caution
If a user repeatedly enters incorrect login credentials, they may see the error message: “Please retry to login after X seconds.”
The wait time doubles with each failed attempt.
-
Click “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”.
-
Approve the required permissions.
-
Complete two-factor authentication (2FA) to proceed (see below). Sign-in with Google or Apple is not permitted without 2FA. If you don’t have a security key set up, please configure one before logging in with Google or Apple.
To connect via API enter your previously generated Client ID and Client secret. Please refer to Creating new API key on Deribit for more details.
This method is typically used for trading bots, third-party platforms, or custom integrations and is exempted from 2FA. What a user can access or perform after logging in via API credentials depends entirely on the scopes assigned to the specific API key used.
Caution
Never share your client secret. Treat it like a password.
To enhance account security, users with 2FA enabled must complete this step during login by selecting the authentication method linked to their previously created security key. Please refer to Two-Factor Authentication for more details
Authentication methods:
-
2FA Code : Enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app.
Notice
To ensure your 2FA code works correctly, your device’s time must be synchronized with internet time servers.
-
Passkey: Authenticate using your passkey (e.g., fingerprint, face ID, or security key).
-
Can I log in without 2FA if I enabled it?
No. 2FA is mandatory if it’s activated on your account.
-
What if I forgot my password?
Use the “Forgot password?” link on the login page.
-
I’ve tried logging in multiple times and now I’m blocked. What should I do?
For your security, Deribit limits the number of consecutive failed login attempts. If you enter an incorrect password five times in a row, your account will be temporarily blocked. You’ll automatically receive an email titled “Your account has been blocked” with a link to reset your password.
To regain access, please reset your password at www.deribit.com/forgot_password
Notice
You’ll also receive an email notification for each failed login attempt to help you monitor suspicious activity.
-
I’m entering my 2FA code or using my passkey, but login fails. What’s wrong?
Ensure the correct 2FA toggle is selected on the login screen:
-
2FA Code –This option is for users who use an authentication app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy). You would have scanned a QR code or entered a secret key into your app during setup.
-
Passkey – Select this option if you’re using a physical security key or a platform authenticator like fingerprint or face ID.
